How does food bring thriving ethnic communities together in the UK?
Living by the motto ‘Variety is the spice of life’, Tropical Sun has partnered with World Food Week to celebrate a variety of world foods this June as a prime example of how food can bring people together.
Their journey started in 1996 when they began importing a few specialist ingredients and daily essentials to the UK.
As word spread, they began receiving requests for specific items from homelands far-afield: Spices, oils, drinks and snacks.
Having started as a Caribbean and African food specialist, they’ve since expanded their offering to include foods from many sunshine countries such as Thailand, USA and Peru. They are a UK company with staff coming from many backgrounds including the Caribbean, Africa, India, Nigeria, Turkey, Vietnam and, of course: the UK.
We love that food helps to bring people together, and to find out more visit Tropical Sun here.
While there's a humongous variety of international food and drink available, knowing where to start can be a completely different story.
That's why Tropical Sun have selected their favourite international food and drink recipes featuring a selection of 12 different cuisines from Caribbean classics to traditional sizzling Mexican options.

As well as creating an assortment of beautiful food options, Tropical Sun pride themselves on their work with local and international communities. Traditionally, they’ve been inclined to keep our community and charity work fairly low-key, but in response to inquiries from customers, they’ve decided to publish details of relevant activities on this page.
If you are keen to get involved in any of their projects, or if you’d like to put forward ideas, feedback or questions, they’d love to hear from you - please do get in touch via their contact page.
